This week we have been practising a poem to recite/read to other classes. Some of the students visited their brothers or sisters in other classes and recited /read the poem with the poster to show all the things the old woman ate. Here is the poem which is called "There was an old woman"

There was an old woman who swallowed a fly,

I don't know why she swallowed a fly,

Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old woman who swallowed a spider,

That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her,

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly,

I don't know why she swallowed the fly,

Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old woman who swallowed a bird,

How absurd! to swallow a bird,

She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,

That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her,

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly,

I don't know why she swallowed the fly,

Perhaps she'll die.

There was an old woman who swallowed a cat,

Imagine that! to swallow a cat,

She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,

Autumn is here! I decided to decorate my door and classroom with an Autumn vocabulary tree with coloured leaves. I didn't realize how long it would take me to cut out all those leaves! I got a blister on my finger from all that cutting out!

Carnival Celebrations

Here are two strange people who were in our carnival celebrations. No prizes for guessing who they are!

The Peace Tree

Here is a photograph of the Peace Tree we made in 4A to celebrate School Peace Day (30th January). It's full of different worldwide religious symbols which the children decorated. We also did one in 4B which the children enjoyed making. Hope you like it!
